It was the second project we had to develop in 4 days. And it wasn’t so hard, cause hopefully, we made a good team with Anais and Kingsley :)

We chose to work with a big company, which provides products for our pets and 360' experience, for example, Vet Clinics and dog groomers.

Nowadays, Kiwoko has a lot of problems, like delivery costs for the company, pricing discrepancies in shops and the website, which doesn’t help e-commerce, and a pretty disorganized website.

First of all, we started comparing Kiwoko Company with competitors like Amazon, Miscota, Tiendanimal, and Zooplus.

And from here we easily found out some pros and cons of Kiwoko. And one of them was that the Store doesn’t offer a pick-up service compared to other animal stores.

After this step, we started performing a survey and an interview with pet owners and people who work in the company. We received a lot of useful information like for example, people like to save time and money and, they value the possibility to return the product. Almost all of the people had an animal shop nearby.

We organized all the information into the Affinity Map to see clearly the pain point we could work on.

From this one, we chose the most repeated information which was about delivery time and scheduling. Also some pain points like saving money when shopping and being able to return it easily.

So, we started ideating about “How might we help people and company to save time and money”?

We prepared the Canvas with the most repeated Pains and Gains. And also the Customer jobs to be done.

We decided to focus on saving money for the company as for customers. This way, we could solve also the delivery troubles, like waiting time and scheduling the time to receive the package at home.

In this case, it will be really useful to create a pick-up service for those clients who can not wait long to receive the package.

Our persona will be an animal lover, who wants to order the best product for her pet but also avoid waiting a long time for the package at home. She’d like to receive the parcel as soon as possible.

Exactly, for this reason, we,d like to show the closest available pick-up places, maybe the opening hours of these places and the direction.

Usually, the user who is navigating the website may have a lot of paths. So, we created the main “happy” path and also some variants of not-so-happy decisions, among them when the customer can not find the appropriate shop or choose a correct delivery method, or also waits too long to receive it at home.

So, we prepared a Mid-fi prototype for Kiwoko online shop.

Kiwoko’s HomePage

From the home page, we already can choose the kind of pet we want to buy products for. So, we take the “Dogs” section and a pop-up window appears on the home page.

From the pop-up window we choose “Dry food” and the web takes us to the list of food and filters we can apply to find the appropriate product.

After choosing a product the website offers us to choose the amount we need to buy in quantity and kg. We choose the needed one and tap on “Add to Cart”

Inside the Cart, you can modify the quantity and add some Coupons for a discount. After that, proceed to “Place Order”

As we all know, we don’t like creating accounts and less completing the personal data for this. So, the web already offers the option to buy as a guest. We choose this one.

On the delivery page, we added the option of the “Pick-up” service. In this case, the page will offer you to introduce your location. And after to choose the suitable shop to pick up your delivery.

You select the shop and it appears on the map. After chosen, you proceed to the payment.

Learnings

During these days we learned a lot about scrolling elements and maps position on the site or app. Also, we improved our team's work by sharing the tasks. So, we didn’t need to spend time in the night :)

Next Steps

Get tested on the Mid-fi prototype and proceed to the Hi-fi version of the same. And for sure, keep practicing all we learned during the week!
